The Holy Sacrament of

Dear Parents and boys and girls,

As you all know your confirmation date of 9th May has had to be postponed due to the coronavirus situation. We thank you for your patience and the sacrifices you are all making to defeat this virus.

We look forward to welcoming you back to the church when we can.

Fr. Frank

Our church teaches that: ‘By the sacrament of Confirmation the faithful are endowed with the special strength of the Holy Spirit in order to become true witnesses of Christ, more strictly obliged to spread the faith by word and deed’.

Preparation for this sacrament is still largely confined within the schools. However, like Do This in Memory regarding the First Eucharist, there are moves to bring preparation out of the school setting and into the parish community. A parish based preparation programme for Confirmation candidates called You shall be my Witnesses is being introduced in our Parish. This programme explores what it means to belong to the Christian family, what we believe, the gift of the Holy Spirit, and how we can witness to the activity of the Holy Spirit in our lives.

Dates for this Confirmation preparation programme are set out below.
