Recently Deceased
We pray for Catherine (Nuala) Walsh and Noreen (Rosemary) Farrell whose funeral masses took place here during the week.

Month’s Mind
We pray for Hanna Finucane whose month’s mind occurs around this time.

May they rest in peace and may their family and friends find comfort at this time.

Cup of tea and a biscuit

Sunday Tea: We wish to thank sincerely Catherine and Martin who have helped make and coordinate our Sunday tea hospitality after our 10 Mass since its inception. It is a great success and we on your behalf wish to acknowledge their community and parish spirit. They are now stepping down from this job. The Sunday tea after our 10 mass works on a rota system so the more volunteers we get the easier the task is for all involved. It should only involve making the tea etc.  once a month or ideally once every six weeks, depending on the number of volunteers we get.  If you are interested in helping out, please leave your name and contact details with Linda in sacristy or phone Marie in the office at  (01) 842 0346.

Catholic Schools Week

Last week was Catholic Schools’ week and we participated by hosting the Laudate concert here in the Church on Tuesday 28th. (It takes place in 3 other churches also). It was nice to welcome back  Ciaran Coll on the piano and Caroline Cutliffe who conducted the music. Over 50 schools are involved and it was great to hear them singing so well.

Of course these events don’t just happen and therefore we would like to specially thank our 6 volunteer stewards who looked after the carpark. Many thanks Charlie, Dermot, Gay, Noel, Paddy and Tom. Thanks to the parish team and all who made the Church such a welcoming place for the event. There are lovely photos on the Diocesan website www.dublindiocese.ie

On Wednesday Fr Frank celebrated a special Mass for school children and their grandparents. Their artwork is displayed behind the altar and you may wish to look at it after Mass. Thanks to Jo and all involved and indeed to the grandparents!

Advice from Dublin Diocese during flu seasonThose who have flu or are ill are under no obligation to go to Mass. If you have the flu, please stay at home, rest, stay well hydrated and, if necessary, seek your doctor’s help. Mass is available via the internet on the Diocesan website www.dubldindiocese.ie

Sign of Peace: Due to the number of colds and flu around, we would kindly remind our parishioners that during the sign of peace it is fine to simply smile, wave, or bow to other to convey Christ’s peace to them.

This Sunday is World Day for Consecrated Life

World Day for Consecrated Life will be celebrated in the Church on Sunday, February 2, 2020. Please pray for all our religious who have made the commitment to a consecrated life, and be sure to thank them on their special day. May they continue to be inspired by Jesus Christ and respond generously to God’s gift of their vocation.

We still have some planned giving boxes for collection in the sacristy. Marie has rung the parishioners concerned so you may wish to collect from sacristy. Many thanks for your support.

Quick recap: Sunday Masses here in Our Lady of Victories are at 10:00am, 12:00pm, and 6:00pm. (There is no Vigil Mass on Saturday).

Please see large posters around the church for the new schedule of Mass times in the grouping.
